Presumably, the president isn't stupid enough actually to believe what he said. But it's dispiriting to discover he's stupid enough to think we're stupid enough to believe it.

The Barack Theory

I have a theory.

It began with something President George W. Bush said shortly after the last election. Talking about Obama, he said something to the effect of, "wait until he gets into the office and sees what our enemies are really up to".

The second piece of the puzzle came with the "graying of Mr. O". Maybe he is going light on his Just for Men in order to look more presidential but anyone who pays the slightest bit of attention to the Before and After pictures of any recent president can clearly see how the office has a way of speeding up the aging process rather dramatically.

The final piece was the earth-shattering election of Scott Brown to fill the Kennedy seat last night.

Look at it from the perspective of "the man" Obama. He has never been in charge of anything much less the executive officer of the most powerful country on the planet. On top of that, he comes equipped with the most radical, left-wing, statist background ever seen in the Oval Office. On top of that, he comes from the Chicago political machine.

Now, 365 days into his presidency, he sees that the American people have resoundingly rejected his agenda (KENNEDY'S SEAT IN MA!!!) and his left-wing lunatic "friends" have turned against him. He is a man without a country despite the fact that he is the leader of the free world.

What's my point? My point is, the next few weeks will be a huge turning point for Obama. Will he realize that the country is primarily made up of right-of-center "folks", many of whom drive "trucks" and believe in the Founding Fathers and The Constitution and American exceptionalism or will he just turn LEFT, double-down and try to force his debt-ridden, tax-hiking, health care rationing, non-stimulus spending, high unemployment, anti-military, pro-union, bribery-laden, Guantanamo-closing, rights-for-terrorist, Pelosi lap dog, America apologizing, global warming (climate change) alarmist, anti-freedom, anti-capitalism, nanny-state agenda down our throats?

No Shock: No Stimulus From the Non-Stimulus Program

Some other figures we learned from last week's jobs report: 3.2M Americans are out of work and have given up seeking work SINCE the Obama stimulus bill was passed. It failed to keep unemployment at 8% or below as the Administration's economic experts said it would, and indeed we know that the rate is 11% but for 661K people leaving the work force in December. When you add in all of the people capable of working and wanting to work the rate rises to 17% or more.

Monday the AP reported the results of an interesting study it conducted. It looked at 700 counties that received the most stimulus dollars and 700 counties that received no stimulus dollars. The AP then looked at the hiring and firing data from those counties. It found there was virtually no difference in the hiring, or more appropriately, lack thereof, between the two groups.

As is typically the case in these money giveaways, the money does not help those that need it. It is a giveaway to the states after the feds sucked all of the money out of the state through income taxes. Then it doles it back out in 'programs' to those that curry favor with the current administration. It is not needs based, it is who you know based. The money is then used for pet projects (literally in some cases) versus anything that creates lasting jobs. It has never worked and it is not working this time either.

Of course the Administration sticks to its 'saved or created' statistics; has to because it cannot admit the stimulus package is not working. The facts are damning enough with the reported unemployment rate rising to 10% and ready to spike even higher without the Administration admitting to them. Of course even if you accept the 'saved or created' illusion you have to accept that the jobs cost $303K each. Frankly most Americans, even with our current school system, feel that spending $300K to save a $50K job is not an equitable trade.

Attention all Democrats! Attention all Democrats!

I have one question for you:

ARE YOU OK WITH THE MANNER IN WHICH THE CONGRESSIONAL DEMOCRATS ARE HANDLING THE HEALTH CARE "DEBATE"?

Check that . . . . by definition a debate requires the engagement of or discussion of opposing points of view.

Let me rephrase the question:

ARE YOU OK WITH YOUR PARTY RAMMING A LIBERAL / SOCIALISTIC / STATIST / MARXIST / COMMUNIST AGENDA DOWN OUR THROATS DESPITE THE FACT THAT THE MAJORITY OF US OPPOSE IT?

You are aware that the Pelosi's and Reid's of the world know that your party will be destroyed if they continue down the current path and they couldn't care less?????

Does anyone in your party think past next week?

Does anyone in your party actually think through and project the intended or unintended consequences of its actions?

Or . . . . do they know exactly what they are doing and know exactly what damage will be inflicted on the economy, on the taxpayers, on the elderly, on the sick and yet just don't GIVE A DAMN???

Could it be true that your party has been highjacked?

These are not rhetorical questions. I am truly curious what my Democrat friends, collegues and family members think about what is currently going down in your party.
