Article I, Section 8

Article I, Section 8, of the Constitution is 18 paragraphs long. It enumerates the limited powers the Constitution grants to the federal government. Here's a breakdown of the 18 paragraphs:
  • 6 concern the military and the militia. 
  • 4 concern money or taxes. 
  • 1 concerns commerce. 
  • 1 concerns naturalization and bankruptcies. 
  • 1 concerns post offices and post roads. 
  • 1 concerns copyrights and patents. 
  • 1 concerns federal courts. 
  • 1 concerns maritime crimes. 
  • 1 concerns the governance of the District of Columbia. 
  • 1 gives Congress the power “to make all Laws which shall be necessary and proper for carrying into Execution the foregoing Powers.”

  • 0 concern marriage (gay or straight) 
  • 0 concern health insurance 
  • 0 concern the education of our children 
  • 0 concern gun control 
  • 0 concern labor laws 
  • 0 concern abortion 
  • 0 concern bailouts of corporations 
  • 0 concern carbon dioxide emissions 
  • 0 concern welfare programs 
  • 0 concern farm subsidies 
  • 0 concern drugs 
  • 0 concern foreign aid 
Unfortunately the list goes on and on and on. The country as founded needs to be taken back or it's over!
